After the fabric and batting are sewn together, the next step is sewing the tucks (which turn it from a flat piece to a bowl shape). The instructions I was using suggested using an air or water soluble pen to mark the sewing lines.
I happened to have just received an air AND water soluble pen as part of a gift. I carefully folded, measured, and marked two pink lines on each of 8 pieces.
I don't (yet) have a dedicated sewing room, so my cutting table and iron are currently in the basement, and my sewing machine is in the living room.
By the time I got up the stairs from the cutting table to the sewing machine, the lines had disappeared! Air soluble it is indeed! I am sure there is a great use for this little notion, but right now, I am not sure what it is! Not a disaster, since these are pretty easy to do just at the machine, but a good lesson learned.
